CAR VINYL
Designing and cutting a vinyl sticker
I undertook this project to design, cut, and apply a handmade vinyl using Adobe Illustrator and a vinyl cutter.
IDEATION
I created several ideation sketches based on interests of mine. Once I got to sketching I realized I wanted my vinyl designed to be placed along the side of a car.
Using Adobe Illustrator, I came up with the final design of koi fish, with the flow of the water heavily inspired by the movement of the car. After preparing the file for cutting, I was able to cut the vinyl using three differently colored sheets. I then carefully transferred the vinyl pieces onto the car.
