Works of Art Speakeasy

Designing and branding
a speakeasy

Inspired by the many unique bars and eateries in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, I chose to fully design a speakeasy for my independent study. After brainstorming, I chose to create a speakeasy inspired by an art gallery. I would begin with ideas for a logo, and eventually move on to a letterhead set, products, a menu, and more.

CReative Brief

First things first, I created a creative brief to outline the details of the project, including project goals and deliverables.

Logo and Style Guide

After several iterations, a final logo was created. The logo was meant to reflect a higher-class establishment while maintaining the theme of an art gallery. After the logo was created, a style guide was made.

Mockups

Multiple mockups were made for the company, including coasters, an outdoor plaque, and etched glasses.

Drink MENU

To continue the art gallery motif, I came up with the idea to hand draw each cocktail and include the artwork within the menu. Each drawing was done with colored pencil and imported into the pages of the menu using Photoshop and InDesign.
